Eligibility
Candidates should verify the current GATE 2027 eligibility requirements on the official website before applying. The official FAQ states there is no age limit and candidates may choose up to two permitted papers; candidates are expected to choose papers appropriate to their qualifying discipline.

Exam and selection process
GATE is a national-level examination. GATE 2027 examinations are scheduled across 6–7, 13–14 and 20–21 February 2027. Candidates should check the official schedule for the exact Chemistry (CY) paper date when announced or confirmed for the paper.
A qualifying GATE score may be used for postgraduate or doctoral admissions with possible financial assistance, subject to each admitting institute’s eligibility and selection rules. Some PSUs also use GATE scores for recruitment.
