3. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
For Lecturer (Chemistry):
- Essential:
- Post-Graduate Degree in Chemistry from a University established by law in India.
- B.Ed. degree in a course recognized by NCTE.
- Preferential Qualification (adds advantage in selection):
- Served in the Territorial Army for at least 2 years, or
- Obtained a ‘B’ Certificate of NCC.
Age Limit:
- 21 to 40 years as on 1 July 2025.
- Relaxations:
- +5 years for SC/ST/OBC of UP, skilled sportspersons of UP, State Govt. employees, teachers in aided institutions.
- +15 years for PH candidates of UP.
4. Selection Process
Selection will be based on Written Examination in two stages:
- Preliminary Exam – Objective type (General Studies + Subject Paper)
- Main Exam – Subjective type (Written Descriptive Paper in Chemistry)

How to Apply for UP GIC Lecturer (Chemistry) 2025
Step 1 – Complete OTR (One Time Registration)
- Go to the official UPPSC OTR portal: https://otr.pariksha.nic.in
- If you don’t have an OTR number:
- Click New Registration and fill in your personal details, mobile number, and email ID.
- Upload your photo and signature.
- Save your OTR number – you will need it for all future UPPSC applications.
- If you already have an OTR number, skip to Step 2.
Step 2 – Login & Select Advertisement
- Visit https://uppsc.up.nic.in
- Under “All Notifications/Advertisements”, find Lecturer (Male/Female) Government Inter College Examination-2025.
- Click Apply.
- Select Authenticate with OTR and enter your OTR number.
Step 3 – Fill the Application Form
- After authentication, your personal details from OTR will auto-fill.
- Enter educational qualifications:
- Postgraduate degree in Chemistry
- B.Ed. qualification details
- Select your preferential qualifications (if any – Territorial Army/NCC).
- Choose reservation category (if applicable).
- Verify all details carefully.
Step 4 – Pay Examination Fee
- After submitting details, go to Fee Confirmation Window.
- Click Proceed for Fee Payment → You will be redirected to SBI MOPS.
