According to the notification:

Male Branch – 85 vacancies (33 UR, 19 OBC, 1 EWS, 24 SC, 8 ST, plus other categories)
Female Branch – 62 vacancies (26 UR, 11 OBC, 2 EWS, 17 SC, 6 ST, plus other categories)

3. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification
For Lecturer (Chemistry):

  1. Essential:
    • Post-Graduate Degree in Chemistry from a University established by law in India.
    • B.Ed. degree in a course recognized by NCTE.
  2. Preferential Qualification (adds advantage in selection):
    • Served in the Territorial Army for at least 2 years, or
    • Obtained a ‘B’ Certificate of NCC.

Age Limit:

  • 21 to 40 years as on 1 July 2025.
  • Relaxations:
    • +5 years for SC/ST/OBC of UP, skilled sportspersons of UP, State Govt. employees, teachers in aided institutions.
    • +15 years for PH candidates of UP.

4. Selection Process

Selection will be based on Written Examination in two stages:

  1. Preliminary Exam – Objective type (General Studies + Subject Paper)
  2. Main Exam – Subjective type (Written Descriptive Paper in Chemistry)

6. Exam Pattern

Preliminary Exam

  • Total Questions: 120
    • 40 – General Studies
    • 80 – Chemistry
  • Marks: 300
  • Time: 2 hours
  • Negative Marking: 0.33 marks for each wrong answer.

Main Exam

  • Part A: General Hindi + Essay (100 marks, 2 hrs)
  • Part B: Chemistry (300 marks, 3 hrs) – descriptive answers required.

How to Apply for UP GIC Lecturer (Chemistry) 2025

Step 1 – Complete OTR (One Time Registration)

  1. Go to the official UPPSC OTR portal: https://otr.pariksha.nic.in
  2. If you don’t have an OTR number:
    • Click New Registration and fill in your personal details, mobile number, and email ID.
    • Upload your photo and signature.
    • Save your OTR number – you will need it for all future UPPSC applications.
  3. If you already have an OTR number, skip to Step 2.

Step 2 – Login & Select Advertisement

  1. Visit https://uppsc.up.nic.in
  2. Under “All Notifications/Advertisements”, find Lecturer (Male/Female) Government Inter College Examination-2025.
  3. Click Apply.
  4. Select Authenticate with OTR and enter your OTR number.

Step 3 – Fill the Application Form

  1. After authentication, your personal details from OTR will auto-fill.
  2. Enter educational qualifications:
    • Postgraduate degree in Chemistry
    • B.Ed. qualification details
  3. Select your preferential qualifications (if any – Territorial Army/NCC).
  4. Choose reservation category (if applicable).
  5. Verify all details carefully.

Step 4 – Pay Examination Fee

  1. After submitting details, go to Fee Confirmation Window.
  2. Click Proceed for Fee Payment → You will be redirected to SBI MOPS.
  3. Choose a payment mode:
    • Net Banking
    • Debit/Credit Card
    • Other Payment Modes
  4. Pay the required fee:
    • UR/OBC/EWS (UP): ₹125/-
    • SC/ST (UP): ₹65/-
    • PH (UP): ₹25/-

  5. Download and print the Payment Transaction Slip.

Step 5 – Final Submission

  1. After payment, login again and complete Application Part-2.
  2. Upload any additional documents if required.

Important Notes

  • Keep OTR number, fee receipt, and final application print safe.
  • No documents are to be sent at the preliminary stage.
  • You can edit the application only once before the last correction date (19 Sept 2025).
