- Fee Payment (Step I): 18th August 2025 – 6th September 2025

- Exam Duration: 3 hours (09:30 AM – 12:30 PM)
- Paper I: 09:30 AM – 10:30 AM (1 Hour)
- Paper II: 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM (2 Hours)

Eligibility Criteria for Chemistry Students
- Candidates with M.Sc. in Chemical Sciences (Chemistry) or those in the final year of their Master’s degree can apply.
- Minimum marks required in Master’s degree:
- General / General-EWS: 55% (without rounding off)
- SC / ST / SEBC (Non-creamy layer) / PwD / Third gender: 50%
- Final year students can also apply, but their result must be declared within 2 years of GSET result, otherwise eligibility will be cancelled.
- Ph.D. holders (who completed Master’s by 19th Sept 1991) get a 5% relaxation in marks.
- No upper age limit.
📝 Exam Pattern
GSET 2025 consists of two papers:
- Paper I (General Aptitude):
- 50 Questions (2 marks each)
- Tests reasoning, comprehension, teaching & research aptitude, divergent thinking, and general awareness.
- Paper II (Subject Specific – Chemistry):
- 100 Questions (2 marks each)
- Entirely based on Chemical Sciences (same syllabus as CSIR-NET).
